Brooke received the owl at 10:34 pm.   
 She was mid-raucous-laugh along with her four best friends, who were all nearing the “roaring drunk” level — but none more so than James, who had seemed almost desperate to consume alcohol only a few hours earlier, and revel in its effects.  Brooke was the only one of them who had remained somewhat sober — she had drawn the short straw that day, and therefore was saddled with the responsibility of designated driver.  She had groaned, complain Try, Try Again -later piece-

          Brooke stared out the window in a daze as she placed the one-page letter down on the table soundlessly.  Her mind was a blur of thoughts and emotions that coursed through her like a wild river.  Her pulse had not quickened, which she would have expected, but the shock was mental, and was not affecting her physically; she was not sweating or breathing more deeply.  Her eyes fluttered a bit, but not from sudden tears.  Her vision obscured as the memories she’d had bur Try, Try Again

          I was sitting in the shade of a tree pretty far from the castle.  It was my favorite place to study and Lily had assured me that she’d be okay for a little while so I could seriously prepare for my exam that evening.  She had practically been shoving me out the door by the time I left.  I found my spot easily and had been studying for about a half-hour when the pages of the textbook were suddenly covered in shadow.  Confused, I looked up.   
          To my absolute revulsion, I saw none other than James Potter standing over me.   
          “Hi,” he said.

James looked up from the Daily Prophet when Lily came through the Portrait Hole, but no one noticed except for me.   
          There was a lot of hubbub in there that night; it was the middle of the exam week, and people were either buried in notes and texts, or doing everything possible to avoid being so.  I was away from the fire, but close enough to where the entire Potter gang was sprawled out, too careless to notice him look up at Lily right after I did.   
          And I felt a sudden, groaning sort of dread.

Whoa. It has been awhile, hasn't it?

I've been swamped with schoolwork, I haven't had a chance to check back in with this account, here on D.A. I've been poking around my other page, , but I've been away from here for too long!

I'll have more fanfics up soon. =P I've been playing with original work lately for the most part, which is available on my MirkwoodElf page. :) Check out if you have a minute to spare. I'd be most grateful.

Finals just around the corner. Good Lord, where did this semester go?!? It seems like it was just yesterday that I was getting used to my new schedule!!

Argh. Well, here's looking forward to summer!! :boogie:

How are exams going for you? They've certainly got me stressed.

No exams for me yet but my premlims will be coming up after the christmas hlidays so I'm still a bit stressy ^^; (still since i only have four subjects this year i get most of the two weeks to do what ever i want...if i get my exams finished in the first week that is ;p
You have another, other page? (did you cancel your older one or are you still using it?)
Think i might just have to go and check it out see this poem of yours and everything :D
